5 Stars Great for all women
You can get your pre-pregnancy body back and this will help. I’ve been training with Teddi every week for over two years now and this DVD is as effective as having Teddi training you in your own home. All women, no matter what stage in life can benefit from this DVD.

5 Stars No more muffin top!
Seriously, 3 years post-natal and I’m stronger, leaner and have more confidence. Since I’m moving I can’t train with Teddi in person anymore so I’m SO glad she did these DVDs. And there’s nothing cheesy on here, which of course, I can’t stand. Just a good workout that’s challenging and rewarding.

5 Stars Love it!!!
I HIGHLY recommend this exercise DVD. I am the mother to 3 children, the youngest of which is 4 months old and I am in the best shape of my life thanks to Teddi. This DVD takes all of the elements of her studio work out and brings it to your living room. There is nothing better than being able to work out in your own home in an effective way. I have even done the DVD with my baby in her bouncy seat – love that! She targets all of your problem areas (hips, butt, thighs, abs) and gives you a cardio work out too. I cannot say enough great things about Teddi and Hot Mamas – get this DVD!!!

5 Stars What a workout!
I have never been stronger, leaner, and in better shape since doing this amazing workout. Teddi knows what women’s bodies responds to and her formula REALLY WORKS!

Gabrielle Reece Fit and Healthy Prenatal Workouts

Movie DVD

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Different workout
The video has shot workouts which I like. The videos are informative and give a good workout.

2 Stars Boring
Sorry to say both Gabi and her trainer need a little more personality. It’s not only a slow workout, but they are boring. I’ve tried 3 of the 6 workouts and haven’t been impressed.

5 Stars Awesome Purchase!
This Pre-Natal Workout Dvd with Gabrielle Reece was well worth the money! Includes workouts, warmups & cooldowns for each trimester of pregnancy. Each workout is actually broken down Month 1, Month 2, etc. The workouts are a little challenging, but not too hard. They are 15 min. long, so easy to fit in a busy schedule. It’s just enough to help you feel like you’re getting a good workout while pregnant. Highly Recommend this DVD!!!!

4 Stars Solid Video
I bought three prenatal fitness videos when I found out I was pregnant with my third and I am happy with this workout.

I have worked out steadily leading up to this pregnancy and wanted to maintain something and know it was safe. This video fits the bill.

Yes, you need a fitness ball, resistance bands and some light weights, so be prepared for that. The workouts are short, so I usually like to do two. I don’t love how chopped up the segments are. You have to go back to the main menu to select warm up then back to the main menu to get to the main workout and then back to the menu again for the cool down, but I do like the exercises and feel like a get enough of a workout without overtaxing myself.

I would agree with another reviewer that the DVD is broken up into trimesters so the first three workouts are designed for the first trimester. If you’re picking this up in your late second and into your third trimester you may not find a whole lot that is relevant for you.

Overall a solid video that I am happy with and will get good mileage out of.

2 Stars Very basic and boring
Though this DVD offers great tips on technique I broke more of a sweat going upstairs to the bonus-room to work out. I was a little disappointed. Gabrielle is such a supreme athlete I was hoping that she would put out a DVD that was somewhat match her level of fitness.

I would recommend this for any novice pregnant woman just getting into working out as opposed to someone who is at an intermediate or an advanced level.

The Lotte Berk Method High Round Assets

The Lotte Berk Method has been called the ultimate body transformation system. For over three decades this no-nonsense, results oriented fitness method has been available exclusively at Lotte Berk Method studios in Manhattan and Bridgehampton, New York. A best-selling book and hundreds of articles have featured and praised these special exercises, but now for the very first time, the world famous Lotte Berk Method is available in a series of effective home video workouts. Former school teacher and tax lobbyist Lydia Bach developed the Method while training with Russian dancer Lotte Berk at her Rehabilitative Exercise studio in London. The Lotte Berk Method combines elements from modern & classical dance, orthopedic back exercises, and Hatha yoga into a highly sensual and satisfying fitness system.

The Lotte Berk Method is a low-impact extraordinarily effective program that firms, lengthens and shapes muscles to their optimal form! Its system of concentrated movements and deep muscle conditioning was designed to make each woman get her best body – miraculously fast. The Lotte Berk Method will make you feel great and help you discover a new level of confidence and vitality.

A “hanging bottom” is a frustrating condition suffered by too many women. But the exercises of the Lotte Berk Method are the most effective ever created to firm and raise your gluteal muscles. 5 Stars Great alternative to squats and lunges that really targets the glutes,
This is perhaps my favorite of the 4 Lotte Berk Method DVDs, as is the instructor, Kristen, who in my opinion comes across as the most engaging and down-to-earth of the LBM video instructors.

If you’re familiar with The Bar Method exercises, the exercises perfomed in “Lotte Berk Method: High Round Assets” are quite similar to the seat/glutes exercise segments in “The Bar Method: Fat Free” DVD – but with some variations nonetheless. The first portion of exercises for the glutes are performed standing up while using a ballet barre for support (a sturdy tall-back chair will work). You work in small, precise movements while staying deep in the muscle, as well as performing isometic holds and pulses. These exercises are very tough and you definitely feel it working. The lying exercises consists of Pelvic Tilts with some variations that not only work your buttocks, but also your inner and outer thighs, lower abs and back. In fact, I used this DVD the day after I’d done a tough abdomnial exercise that left my lower back very sore. The pelvic tilt, which is also an ortheopedic back exercise, helped to sooth and stretch it out, and by the next day my lower back pain was gone!

There are a few things about this DVD and the exercises contained therin which make it especially great. First of all, This DVD is only 30 minutes long. The exercises are not only non-impact, but from my own experience, they more effectively target and shape the buttocks than squats or lunges do, which although work the glutes some, tend to work the legs (especially quads) a lot more. Therefore, I like to alternate these type of exercises with squats/lunges and usually do either this DVD or one of TBM DVDs in combination with an aerobics DVD on cardio or light days.

As with all exercise methods of this nature (Lotte Berk Method, The Bar Method, Callenetics), these exercises become more challenging as one progresses. I would definitely consider this to be an intermediate level workout, as true beginners may be better to start with “Lotte Berk Method: Basic Essentials” before moving on to this one.

Rating: Excellent

5 Stars EFFECTIVELY TARGETS THOSE TOUGH SPOTS
After being disappointed by some of the other Lotte Berk videos I tried, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by this video.

The workout effective isolates the butt/hip muscles by doing many reps/variations of simple small movements. The moves aren’t complicated nor dangerous.

This is a challenging workout, but appropriate for beginners to advanced: beginners can do fewer reps, super-advanced can probably try light ankle weights.

I like this instructor, she seems down to earth and not annoying to me (not too peppy, not too slooow, not talk too much but does give ample appropriate cues.) Also, even though there were many reps of each exercise, the instructor varied it enough and also moved the workout along so that I didn’t feel bored or wasting time.

Summary of moves:

WARM UP(This seems to be standard to all the Lotte Berk videos; personally I like to skip this):

knee lifts, shoulder shrugs. Push ups, reverse push ups, tricep stretch, hamstring stretch.

SEAT: (They recommend using a chair or wall to hold onto while doing these.)

Hip extension

Hip extension with leg slightly out to the side & knee bent & aim lower leg/foot behind you (this one burns!)

Hip extensions while leaning forward (as if you’re doing an arabesque)

“BACK DANCING”:

Hip rolls in bridge position (lots of reps – regular, ankles flexed, and legs together)

STRETCHES

5 Stars Excellent workout, good instructor
Out of all 4 DVD’s, I think Kristen is the best instructor. She keeps the chatter to a minimum and gives clear instructions. She is the most “no-nonsense” of the 4 instructors. This is an excellent thigh and seat workout. You will definitely “feel the burn” during and after the workout! I have noticed some changes in these areas already and I’ve only done the workout a few times.

4 Stars Good workout!
At first I was a little skeptical about the Lotte Berk Method, but after I began to like Muscle Eats Fat I bought this DVD. I was not disappointed. This is a short but effect workout, good for light days and toning. I could definitely feel the burn in my glutes. A lot of the moves are repetitive, but the Lotte Berk method does give results. It is definitely worth it. This is an excellent workout to add to your collection.

5 Stars High Round Assets
I really like Lotte Berk Method because it tones your muscles, without bulking them up. The DVD is about 35 mins long and it focuses on strengthing and toning the muscles. It works for me!

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars Not what I expected
This video was not what I expected. I was expected kick boxing and there was not kicking at all – primarily punches and some cardio. The moves were pretty basic and easy to follow – until she got to the combinations. There was no instruction before she started with the combination and they were done so fast that, at least for me, they were impossible to follow. I just basically did my own thing during these sections. I also did not feel like I got a very good workout with this tape. I have done other kickboxing and cardio tapes that I like much better – they gave me a better workout and were much easier to follow. Try Janice Saffell, Tae Bo, or Gilad.

5 Stars Great Workout
I have taken Lynn’s class in person for years. Its great to have an alternative that I can do from home. I highly recommend this DVD.
